  1. Stan Getz in Stockholm plays "I'll Remember April;" Getz became a popular figure with his interpretations of Brazilian bossa-nova in the 60s, specially "Desafinado" and "The Girl from Ipanema" by Brazilian Joao Gilberto. He was also one of the main interpreters of cool jazz, along with others such as Miles Davis, Lennie Tristano, and Chet Baker; and like many other players of the bebop era such as Mulligan, Parker, Holiday, and many others, ran into trouble with substance abuse. 2. Stan Getz played West Coast Jazz, Cool Jazz, even some bebop, but the genre that catapulted him to fame was Brazilian bosa-nova where he hit a couple of big ones with "Desafinado" and "The Girl from Ipanema," both of Joao Gilberto. Getz was also very popular in Europe. Like many other jazz players of his generation he had serious problems with substance abuse. Gabe Meruelo.
