Lennie Tristano - Solo Piano

1 comment:

  1. Piano solo by Lennie Tristano. This blind pianist was a very influential performer and teacher during the 40s, 50s, and 60s. He's one of the pioneers of cool jazz. Among his students were Bill Evans, Warne Marsh, and Lee Konitz. In his brilliantly researched book "The History of Jazz" Ted Gioia states that even though Tristano "performed and recorded with the likes of Charlie Parker, Dizzie Gillespie, Max Roach, and Fats Navarro...for the most part preferred to make music in the company of his students."
