  2. Oscar Peterson was a phenomenal pianist, the legitimate heir of Art Tatum for his amazing speed. A virtuoso of the jazz piano. He was in jazz what his compatriot Glenn Gould was in classical music. On one occasion he suffered a stroke in the middle of a concert, and although he lost much of the use of one hand in the middle of the performance continued and finished playing with only one hand at 100% capacity.
